Our take
The back-to-back release dates of October 21 and 22 suggest a significant midweek content push for Fortnite. The specific labeling of Obsession as 'Nikki' ties the in-game content directly to the film's character, distinguishing it from the unlabelled Slender Man drop.
Background
In July 2026, Epic Games released a trailer edit for the horror film Obsession, replacing the character Nikki with a rare collectible Fortnite sprite. Polygon reported that this crossover poked fun at the community's obsession with sprites, which function similarly to Pokémon in the game. The edit served primarily to advertise the film's availability for streaming rather than announcing a traditional skin collaboration.
The Obsession DLC is labeled 'Nikki' in the leak, referencing the character from the film, according to happygamer.com. Slender Man is listed without a specific label.

Our read of the evidence
Mostly unverified. No primary source has confirmed the reported dates, and both timeline events rest solely on outlet reports from polygon.com and happygamer.com. Epic Games has not confirmed the dates, and no pricing or grind requirements have been disclosed. The claims remain unverified pending official confirmation.
Our rating counts evidence, not opinions about anyone: events confirmed by a primary source (the person's own post, their official site, a court or government record) weigh most, then how many independent outlets report the story.
