Our take
The mural's location at Wythe and N 11th in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, aligns with Rockstar's history of using high-visibility urban spaces for promotional art. The inclusion of Jason and Lucia with guns and palm trees reinforces the game's core aesthetic and characters ahead of its release.
Background
Rockstar Games has a tradition of painting large-scale murals on building walls to promote its Grand Theft Auto titles, including iconic works for GTA V and GTA IV. Fans have long anticipated a similar mural for Grand Theft Auto VI.
In addition to the mural, shops have begun putting up large posters, and Rockstar and Miami-Dade county are installing large-scale signs in downtown Miami as part of the promotional campaign.
