Our take
Perkz's explicit rejection of the Tate brothers and ocelote clarifies his personal stance amid intense scrutiny following G2's Worlds 2026 exit. By labeling the Tates as 'fake' and 'hypocritical,' he draws a sharp line between his coaching role and the controversial figures associated with G2's past. This statement serves as a direct response to the 'narratives' he claims are being created in the offseason.
Background
Luka 'Perkz' Perković has served as G2's head coach since July 2026, taking over after the sudden sacking of Dylan Falco, according to insider-gaming.com. He initially joined as a positional coach before assuming the head coaching role after MSI. G2's roster, featuring Caps, BrokenBlade, and Hans Sama, has been together for two full years, though rumors suggest BrokenBlade and SkewMond may leave.
The statement came as online discourse surrounding Perkz’s character ramped up after G2 suffered a disappointing 1-3 Swiss Stage elimination at Worlds 2026. Perkz had been distant from social media for many years, stating his life has been more peaceful as a result. He addressed his history in the LEC, including his 2016 debut and the impact of his father's passing in 2020 on his public persona.
