Our take
The three‑month delay to May 20, 2027 gives Santa Monica Studio extra time to polish the game, potentially improving quality for fans. By moving the release out of a crowded February window, the studio also reduces competition with other major titles, which may help Laufey attract more attention upon launch.
Background
God of War Laufey was announced in June 2026, with its original release set for February 16, 2027. The announcement generated significant excitement among fans eager to follow Faye, Kratos’ wife, on her journey through the Everywhen.

Our read of the evidence
Mostly unverified. The delay announcement comes only from a report by fandomwire.com, with no confirmation from the studio itself. No primary source has verified the new release date or the reason given for the delay. The game's actual launch on May 20, 2027 remains pending.
Our rating counts evidence, not opinions about anyone: events confirmed by a primary source (the person's own post, their official site, a court or government record) weigh most, then how many independent outlets report the story.
