Our take
This shift marks a strategic pivot from cosmetic exclusivity to currency value, directly addressing community complaints about the lack of unique content in the $11.99 subscription. By tying V-Bucks to tenure, Epic incentivizes long-term retention while removing the recurring cost of producing new exclusive outfits. The removal of the OG Pass signals a pause in that mode’s development until late 2027.
Background
Fortnite Crew is a paid subscription service priced at $11.99 USD per month that includes the Fortnite Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass, and Rocket Pass Premium. Prior to the announced changes, the subscription provided 800 V-Bucks and a monthly exclusive outfit known as the Crew Pack.
The service also included the OG Pass, a battle pass dedicated to the Fortnite OG mode. Epic Games has stated that the next era of Fortnite OG is scheduled for late 2027, which coincides with the removal of the OG Pass from the Crew bundle.

In their place, the base monthly V-Bucks allowance will reportedly increase from 800 to 1,000, with a new tenure-based tier system allowing subscribers to earn up to 1,600 V-Bucks per month. The subscription price reportedly remains unchanged at $11.99 USD.[1]
Our read of the evidence
Mostly unverified. The announced Fortnite Crew changes rest solely on a gaming.net report with no primary source confirmation from Epic Games. Only one outlet has covered the announcement, and no other parties have spoken on record about the overhaul. The new V-Bucks structure and retirement of current benefits remain pending until the December 5 implementation date.
Our rating counts evidence, not opinions about anyone: events confirmed by a primary source (the person's own post, their official site, a court or government record) weigh most, then how many independent outlets report the story.
