Our take
The closure of the Bungie Store on October 19 creates a logistical gap for fans during a critical period of Destiny 2's resurgence. While the studio promises a new platform in 2027, the immediate removal of the primary merchandise hub may impact fan engagement and revenue during the game's active phase.
Background
The studio operates a dedicated online storefront for selling physical merchandise, digital downloads, and emblem codes related to its games.

Marathon storefront remains operational
Bungie clarified that Marathon's current storefront will continue to operate in its current form, with its rewards and merchandise remaining available at marathon.bungiestore.com. This contrasts with the closure of the main Bungie Store, which PC Gamer noted appears to look effectively identical to the Marathon storefront.[3]
Our read of the evidence
Mostly unverified. The announced store retirement and sale are based solely on reports from pcgamer.com and twitter.com, with no primary source confirming those events. The pending end‑of‑sale date and future merchandise plans are cited by Bungie Store and pcgamer.com, and there is no record of both parties speaking on the record, leaving the evidence mostly unverified.
Our rating counts evidence, not opinions about anyone: events confirmed by a primary source (the person's own post, their official site, a court or government record) weigh most, then how many independent outlets report the story.
