Background
In August 2025, a VOD of VTuber Deme playing the video game Outer Wilds was uploaded to her YouTube channel. Approximately 1 hour and 17 minutes into the stream, it is alleged by some viewers that Deme was having sex with her boyfriend. Those who believe this claim point to audible "slapping" noises, Deme's seemingly distracted speech patterns, and suspicious "bouncing" movements of her avatar as evidence. Deme has denied this allegation.
The controversy reignited in June 2026 when VTuber Deme reposted a piece of fan art depicting her avatar with exaggerated physical features. Later the same day, Deme posted a now-deleted message on X (formerly Twitter) stating her discomfort with NSFW art of her avatar.
This led to YouTuber Chibi Reviews posting a critique, highlighting Deme's repost of the lewd artwork alongside her request for fans to avoid such content, calling it "virtue signaling." Deme responded by referencing a past incident where Chibi Reviews was allegedly cheated on by his fiancé, a remark that drew further criticism.
