Our take

SuperBrine's achievement highlights the depth of audio cues in Tekken 8, as he used sound to distinguish hits from blocks without visual input. The debate over his character choice, Alisa, underscores how community perception of difficulty can clash with the technical skill required to execute a blindfolded climb from Beginner to God of Destruction.

Background

Tekken 8 is a competitive fighting game where players climb a ranked ladder from Beginner to God of Destruction. Reaching the top rank requires winning enough matches to defeat opponents with increasingly advanced knowledge of attack patterns, timing, and movement.

SuperBrine is a Tekken 8 streamer who decided to test his limits by completing this climb while wearing a sleep mask. He explained to IGN that his primary goal was to take on a challenge most people consider impossible and prove he could do it, relying on foundational experience from playing smurf accounts and precise audio cues to differentiate hits, blocks, and wall splats.

Our read of the evidence

Mostly unverified. The only information available consists of reports of the player's announcement and a follow‑up article, with no primary source confirming the achievement. Both timeline entries derive from the same report, and no opposing viewpoint has been recorded on the record. A future video is mentioned but not yet released, leaving the claim pending verification.

Our rating counts evidence, not opinions about anyone: events confirmed by a primary source (the person's own post, their official site, a court or government record) weigh most, then how many independent outlets report the story.
